The Fall Turn Off
Winterizing your lawn sprinkler system will ensure that its components and piping are not damaged in the winter. Winter is a particularly harsh time for your lawn sprinkler system components, because of freezing temperatures, snow and ice. So it’s important to winterize your system at the end of each season.

About Winterization
It is important to have your system winterized before the temperatures consistently fall below 32°F (0°C) to avoid damage to your irrigation system.
Blowout process is quick and easy, typically only taking 15-20 minutes to complete. General steps are as follows:
- Shut off the water supply to your irrigation system using the master shutoff valve.
- We will remove the backflow valve.
- Connect an air line to your irrigation system.
- Start up the compressor and run it continuously for 15-20 minutes depending on how many zones.
- Seal off any water lines between zones to avoid debris from getting in there
If you have an air compressor large enough, you can winterize your irrigation system yourself. However, most homeowners don’t have the equipment or experience to properly clear their systems of water. Our technicians are trained and equipped with the best technology to winterize your irrigation system safely and efficiently.
The best case scenario is that your irrigation system doesn't experience a leak this winter. The worst case scenario is a burst pipe or frozen plumbing, which can cause significant damage to both your irrigation system and your home.
