Services & Pricing
How much does a new irrigation system cost?
The cost varies based on property size, number of zones, terrain complexity, and system features. Larger properties or those with challenging layouts may cost more. We provide detailed, itemized quotes after a free site assessment so you know exactly what to expect.
When should I schedule my spring turn-on?
We recommend scheduling your spring turn-on in late March or early April, once the threat of hard freezes has passed in Cincinnati. Members receive priority scheduling to ensure their systems are ready when they need them. We typically book up quickly in spring, so it's best to schedule early.
Do I really need to winterize my system every year?
Yes! Cincinnati winters regularly drop below freezing, which can cause serious damage to irrigation systems. Water left in pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads will freeze and expand, causing cracks and ruptures. Professional winterization using compressed air removes all water from the system, preventing damage that can cost thousands to repair.
What's included in a mid-season check?
Our mid-season check includes a comprehensive 4-point inspection: checking for broken or misaligned sprinkler heads, testing system pressure and coverage, inspecting for leaks in pipes and valves, and cleaning clogged nozzles. This service catches small issues before they become expensive problems and ensures your system runs efficiently all summer.
How quickly can you respond to emergency repairs?
We understand that irrigation emergencies like major leaks or broken pipes need immediate attention. We offer same-day or next-day service for urgent repairs in most cases. Membership holders receive priority scheduling and faster response times. Call us as soon as you notice a problem and we'll get someone out to you as quickly as possible.
What's the difference between your membership tiers?
Our Bronze plan includes spring turn-on and winterization with priority scheduling and a 5% service discount. Silver adds two seasonal inspections, increases the discount to 10%, and keeps the $90 service call fee. Gold includes everything in Silver plus four seasonal inspections and waives the service call fee entirely. All plans are priced based on the number of zones in your system.
Is backflow testing required in Cincinnati?
Yes, the Greater Cincinnati Water Works and most local municipalities require annual backflow testing for irrigation systems to protect the public water supply. Our certified technicians perform the test, handle all paperwork, and submit the official report to the water authority on your behalf. It's a quick, hassle-free process.
Irrigation Systems
How long does an irrigation system last?
With proper maintenance, a quality irrigation system can last 15-20 years or more. The key is regular upkeep: annual winterization, spring startups, timely repairs, and periodic inspections. Controllers and sprinkler heads may need replacement every 10-15 years, but the underground piping and valves can last decades when properly cared for.
Will an irrigation system save me money on my water bill?
Yes! A professionally designed irrigation system with smart controllers and proper zoning can reduce water usage by 20-30% compared to manual watering. The system delivers precise amounts of water exactly where and when it's needed, eliminating runoff and overwatering. Most homeowners see a noticeable reduction in their water bills within the first season.
Can I install an irrigation system if I already have landscaping?
Absolutely! We specialize in retrofitting irrigation systems into existing landscapes. Our technicians use specialized equipment to minimize disruption to your lawn, garden beds, and hardscaping. We carefully plan the layout to avoid tree roots and existing features, and we always restore your lawn to its original condition after installation.
What's the difference between drip irrigation and traditional sprinklers?
Drip irrigation delivers water slowly and directly to plant roots through a network of tubes and emitters, making it extremely water-efficient (up to 50% less water than sprinklers). It's ideal for garden beds, trees, shrubs, and vegetable gardens. Traditional sprinklers cover larger areas and are best for turf grass. Many properties benefit from a combination of both systems.
Can I control my irrigation system from my phone?
Yes! We install smart controllers that connect to your home WiFi and allow you to control your system from anywhere using a smartphone app. You can adjust schedules, start or stop watering, and receive alerts about system issues. Smart controllers can also adjust watering based on local weather data, saving water and money automatically.
How long does it take to install a new irrigation system?
Most residential installations take 1-3 days depending on property size and system complexity. We work efficiently to minimize disruption to your daily routine. The process includes design consultation, trenching, pipe installation, sprinkler head placement, controller setup, system testing, and final walkthrough. We'll provide a detailed timeline when we quote your project.
What happens if my system breaks down?
Call us immediately! Common issues like broken sprinkler heads, leaking valves, or controller malfunctions are usually quick fixes. We carry most parts on our trucks and can often complete repairs in a single visit. For more complex problems, we'll diagnose the issue, explain your options, and provide an upfront quote before proceeding with repairs.
Do you offer warranties on your work?
Yes! All new installations come with a comprehensive warranty covering both parts and labor. The specific warranty period varies by component—controllers and valves typically have 2-5 year manufacturer warranties, while our installation workmanship is guaranteed for one year. We also warranty all repair work for 90 days. We stand behind our work 100%.
